We took 2 teams to this weekends CB Housnlow Tournament and performed well in wet and challenging conditions over our 8 games.

The squads for the games were

Hampton Reds - Tommy, Liam, Jake, Josh, Max and Quincy
Hampton Blues - Dan, Charlie, Caelen, Lou, Veer and Brandon

The reds took on Pitshanger Oranges, Ickenham Whites, Staines Town and FC Real Whites whilst in the Blues group were Staines Lammas Blue, Molesey Colts, CB Hounslow Blues and Ickenham Blues.

The reds finished up unbeaten with 2 draws and 2 wins - mirroring our performance at Spelthorne Sports Tournament in May. First up was a 1-1 draw with Pitshanger. Jake gave us the lead from kick off before Pitshanger got back in to the game and equalised. Tommy had a goal disallowed right at the death which would had given us the win when he was adjudged to have handled the ball despite it hitting him on the head!

Second game was against Ickenham Whites and in torrential rain the boys put in a dominating performance in a 5-0 win. Mac grabbed a brace with Josh, Jake and Quincy all getting on the scoresheet. Our third match was an end to end battle against Staines Town in which Jake scored all 4 goals in a 4-3 win, all of Staines goals coming from corners which is something we can work on. Finally we drew 1-1 with FC Real White with Josh equalizing after we had fallen behind.

The Blues started off with a thrilling 3-2 win over Staines Lammas Blues as they came back from 2-0 down to win. Dan scored twice before Caelen secured the win in the dying seconds. Next game up saw us lose 2-0 to a decent Molesey side but the boys worked hard throughout as the heavens opened. The final two games saw a brace of 2-0 wins as first Charlie scored twice agains CB Hounslow Blues and in the final game Dan added to his earlier goals with another two against Ickenham Blues.

All the boys worked hard in their games and the improvements in their game over the past 9 months are evident for all to see. We still have a couple of tournaments left in the summer but with the current set of boys plus those joining for the coming season we are building a good set of teams for our jump up to Under 8's next season.

Training continues on Saturday mornings at Bushy Park from 9.30 am until notified otherwise and the next scheduled tournament is the 5th July at Abbey Rangers.
