A thrilling afternoon at the Beveree ground as Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth Coaches team showed their players and families that they can actually still kick a ball themselves and they're not all just talk! The charity match against a team of Beavers Trust members, the charity arm of Hampton & Richmond Borough FC supporters, turned out to be a thrilling display in the April sunshine. A game of two halves with the Beavers leading a goal to nil at half time, the coaches started to find their form and despite aching legs and struggling with the heat, the fight back began. HRBYFC finished took the trophy winning 7-2 thanks to a hat trick for U11 Colts' James Hemmings, two goals from U18 Girls Warriors coach Darren Flory, and one goal each for U9 Colts' Sean Bennett and U10 Bucks' John Mills. The U10 Bucks shared even more of the glory when coach Matt Glew took the team Man of the Match award. Team Manager Ian Garrett (authentically dressed in shirt, tie and waistcoat like Southgate) declared his team to be "absolute heroes"
The match was played in fantastic spirits and with match funding from Hampton & Richmond Borough FC the Beavers Trust collected over £1000 for the Anthony Nolan Trust charity.
