After 30 years of hurt, well not quite.
The boys put it all together on one fine weekend in the sun.
It all started Saturday PM at the Kingstonians tournament. A tough group with 4 out of 6 premier elite teams, Kingstonians/Wandgas (corinthians)/newly promoted Claygate/Bookham & Kew.
After 2 wins & a draw we found ourselves against another Kingstonians in the 1/4 finals,
a 1-0 victory was enough to see us through to a semi final against Wandgas where we were finally able to turn the tide with a 2-0 victory.
The final was against newly promoted Claygate & it was a tight affair with all the boys absolutely cream crackerd. Cameron finally broke the deadlock with a well place toe poke which just trickled over the line.....(we will take it) VICTORY !!!
The crowd went wild see attached video. (-:
Tournament 2
After getting home around 7pm it was a 7am alarm for a trip to Old Woking & the Meadow Sports tournament.
Not such a tough group Halliford/Woking/Meadow Sports, but only the top 2 went through today & with a strong Leatherhead team in the other group a league win was required to avoid them until the final.
The boys did this with some superb football today winning one 12 minute game 8-0.
Only conceding 1 goal, a deflected free kick.
A semi final was booked against another Woking side who had just knocked out a strong Sutton side.
We turned them over 3-0 & with Leatherhead beating Halliford in the other semi, the final was on.
As you would imagine a tight final with not many clear cut chances, two well matched sides.
Then with only minutes to go a through ball over the top from Cam which Liam took a chance on, he caused a mix up in the Leatherhead defence & Gooooaaaal..... Liam was able to tap in for 1-0 HRBFC. The last couple of minutes was intense, but the boys held out for a great win !! What a trophy, images attached.
Playing today were Liam/Charlie/Jake(in goal)/Levi/Matt/Ellis & Cam.
Does anyone know a good carpenter to build me a trophy cabinet (-:
Seriously very proud of a great bunch of boys, to concede only 2 goals in 13 games, scoring 28 is a fantastic statistic so well done all... lets hope we can take this form
into the Halliford tournament.
Thanks Adam
