Our U16 Girls demonstrated skill and resilience against a team two years older at an annual exhibition match at Gordon's School in Woking. In a fast paced and exciting match played beneath a huge moon, the appropriately named 'Beaver' moon of the previous night, the girls triumphed 3-2. Darren Flory, U16 Warriors Manager, was full of praise for his girls who battled throughout to come out on top against their older hosts.
The girls were invited to play a demonstration match at the school as part of an annual event which sees Gordon's School U18s play HRBFC Academy boys. The matches are organised by Matt Nash, now a coach at the school and a former Hampton & Richmond player, and Steve Bates, HRBFC Academy manager.
The school has strong miitary connections and the girls were played out to the pitch by the school bagpipe and drum band. Andy Wadham HRBYFC, Club Secretary, was especially proud of the team's respectful behaviour during the minute's silence and playing of the Last Post for Remembrance day and how well they carried themselves during the event. They were fantastic ambassadors for our club at a great evening of football.
