In a triumphant farewell to youth football, our HRBYFC U18 Colts won their third major trophy when they took the Surrey Primary League Cup for the second time. The boys count among our most succesful squads having also won the County Cup in their 12 year long career at HRBYFC.
Manager Luke Burton who has been with them since they were a junior development team can be rightly proud of all he's achieved with this great group of lads who now come to the end of their time with the club, bringing home silverware on their final ever match as Colts.

Reflecting on their time with Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth, Luke shared his thoughts with other coaches and volunteers at the club: "It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of this, the real success is keeping a team together and creating an environment that the players want to keep coming back to, week in week out no matter what the result is. The development of the team and players is important but will happen by itself if you create the right environment, don't chase it or force it, let it come naturally remember the weaker player now may well be the stronger player in a few seasons as they all develop at different stages.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of this, the real success is keeping a team together and creating an environment that the players want to keep coming back to, week in week out no matter what the result is.
Take it seriously enough to make it worth being part of but not so seriously that you question your own behaviour on a Sunday morning.
