Our U8 & U9 Warriors are sporting new white away shirts thanks to generous grants to support further growth of girls football in the club by Football Media and the John Terry Foundation. Their contributions, totalling £2000 will help Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth to further develop its offer for girls football, which has grown in the last 8 years to cover all age groups from U8 to U18 and around 140 girls.
Football Media is a digital advertising and sponsorship agency that connects brands with football audiences and clubs across men’s and women’s football, supporting growth at every level of the game through meaningful, long-term partnerships. CEO Dean Akinjobe was pleased to support the U8 and U9 girls starting out with their football journey at Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth and build more opportunities through purchasing new equipment.
The John Terry Foundation exists to break down the barriers holding people back. That can include helping young people find confidence through sport. Dee Steele of JTF explained that when her daughter joined HRBYFC, they felt it was a good match for JTF to support a fun development experience for girls in grass roots football, from first kick through to teens and young women, who need to push the limits of their confidence further to continue enjoying football and the welfare boost it gives them as they move into adult life.
