Woking Town Footies v HRBFC

It was an autumnal misty morning with a noticeable change in the weather as we all arrived in Woking for the away match against Woking Town Footies.

With Will still injured, Majd kindly donned the goalkeepers kit for the first half.

The match started early at 9.55am and in the first fifteen minutes a corner was taken by Joe to Josh who was unlucky as the ball sailed over the top of the goal.

For the first 20 minutes little seemed to be happening when George scores in 23rd minute to bring the score to 0-1.

This seemed to wake the boys and soon after Bryce shoots the ball across goal for George to score again - 0-2

At half time the score is 0-2

During the half time talk with Simon the boys cheered and clapped Joe for "volunteering??!" to don the goal keepers kit for the second half.

Soon after the start of the second half there was a great attempt by Josh which resulted in a cracking save by opposition goal keeper.

Josh had another attempt saved by keeper but then as the ball is put back into play by their goalie Ogi intercepts the ball and scores; 0-3.

Only minutes later their goalie spills ball and it is run in and scored by Ogi 0-4.

Fired up Ogi runs down pitch and passed to Rory to score 0-5.

In the final 20 minutes of the game the opposition score as the ball hits post and goes over top of Joe's head to bring the score to 1-5

The final goal came from an own goal from head of a Woking defender, the final score 1-6.

Thanks to the injured Charlie and his Dad traveling down to Woking to show their support. It was also great to see so many parent watching and supporting the boys.

And finally a special congratulations to Simon on the birth of his daughter and despite the arrival being less than 7 days ago, he was still up and coaching the boys.
