Under 14 Colts played likely challengers, Windsor Tigers, at Hatherop yesterday morning.
It was one of those battling performances that makes a Gaffer proud. We weren't as slick as we have been in previous matches but boy did we do the ugly stuff well. We went in at Half Time 2-0 up before Francis did his best to bring Windsor back in to the game with an uncharacteristic Kariusesque howler. However, we restored our two goal advantage before adding a sublime 4th through John Boy with an outside of the boot lob over the oncoming keeper. We won the 50:50s and just wanted it a lot more. Jacob with two and Leo with a lovely right footed curler deserve mentions along with the immense Arvinho in the middle. John Boy was Man of the Match.
4-1 and a very good team with very noisy and somewhat moany coaches and parents. They didn't seem to like our tackling but taking man and ball was done very fairly, with the emphasis on ball.
Top of the league and on to Reading City Away next week.
