Edward Thomson rifled a low shot into the corner of the net

Hampton started slowly and were punished twice very early in the first half. A third followed but was quickly answered by Liam Fisher who finished from close range bringing it back to 1-3 just before half time.

Once again, the second half saw Hampton come out fighting. Louis Norman burst down the left wing and into the penalty area to be brought down unfairly. Harvey Gladwin took the ensuing penalty and finished nicely into the bottom left leaving the goalie no chance.

There then followed a succession of unforced Hampton errors that led to four easy Bedfont goals. A very expensive lesson in defending - always play to the whistle. Hampton regained their composure and began to play better football. Edward Thomson carried the ball from deep in his own half and rifled a low shot into the corner of the net for a great individual goal. Then James Wood took a shot from the edge of the 18 yard box which was parried by the keeper. Mason Hill followed up and finished well from close range.

Bedfont rallied and took a couple of opportunities gifted to them through poor defensive communication. Hampton weren't finished though and applied pressure late on in the game winning a corner which was well taken by Piers Cramp and finished neatly by Harvey Gladwin with his left foot to make the final score 5-9.
