Under 13 Colts entertained Carshalton Greens this weekend. A familiar story unfolded with Hampton scoring three goals but conceding far more. To add to our misfortunes, we contributed to our own downfall by scoring two own goals, one of which was a great header - just at the wrong end of the pitch.
At times we played some good football and when our strike partnership of Harvey Gladwin and Liam Fisher were fed the ball they looked threatening. Liam scored first early in the first half and Harvey followed his lead netting two more.
Our problems though are in the defensive third with a lack of real pace easily exploited and some unconvincing challenges being avoided by agile opponents. Plenty of work on the training ground this Thursday.
We look forward to welcoming Cameron Uddin to the team next week. Cameron transfers to the Colts from Hampton Rangers and will increase the overall squad size also giving more options in the attacking half.
The search for a permanent goal keeper continues with Jack Manning taking this position on a temporary basis until one is found. Jack pulled of some great saves today and narrowly missed out to James Wood for the man of the match award.
