Fine overall performance delivers good win on heavy pitch

The Under 13 Colts played well against Isleworth. The score line probably doesn't reflect the chances both sides had. Isleworth narrowly missed several times and Jack Manning needed to be at his best in a few one on one situations. Likewise, Liam Fisher and Harvey Gladwin could also have improved on their two goals a piece had it not been for some fine saves by the Isleworth keeper.

It was good to see Hampton maintain their shape throughout an entire match. James Wood playing some good through balls to the strike force and Piers Cramp at his tenacious best in midfield. Edward Thomson also showed discipline and speed playing on the right wing.

Cameron Uddin volunteered to take a place in the centre of defence and partnered well with Lewis Blundell. It was a tough playing surface wit heavy mud and standing water in some places. Mason Hill did well on the left but would have made a bigger impact if only he had studs instead of astro boots ;-)

Despite some long periods of Isleworth pressure in the second half, our defence stood firm with both Toby Hagreen and Rio Mason Tsang covering well. Andre Filipas also made some important clearances in the left back position against some tricky strikers. Jamie Robinson took one for the team by shoring up the defence when Cameron needed to come off. Jamie did well to hold the defensive line alongside Lewis.

It was particularly gratifying to hear the very positive support coming from the parents today. Thank you all and well done Hampton on the first win of the season. We look forward to playing Isleworth again straight after the Christmas break.
