Broadway!

Having a patchy period? Wins thinner than Donald Trump’s Frisbee fringe? Social life about as dull and vacuous as that area located between the ears of DT’s redundant head?

Doubt yourself? Think yourself useless. Life couldn’t get worse? Come inside, I think I might have found new unexplored areas of life to enhance your portfolio of things you are no good at!

Warm your hands on new and enterprising aspects of life that might just otherwise have passed you by! You see Club Management might just be the perfect lifestyle choice for you!?

Managers you see are not too dissimilar to those good singing folk you find at the back of a funeral, nobody knows em or from whence they came. They emerge from crevices and disappear back once they have a got a little singing and shouting off their chest! Nobody likes them.

So a new raison d’etre if you so wish.

A few job incentives are listed below

Passwords; keys; late cancellations, late calls, inbox full, disappearing balls mid match. Half your team on an Asbo’s. A phone battery life dimmer than the lights at Oldfield Road. Attitude, parent’s expectation, children’s expectations. Dog, Deer & Fox poo. Health & Safety, Long grass, no grass interspersed with standing water. Ball pressure, Club expectation, respect barriers, no toilets, bibs, cones and a first aid kit that looks as lonely as a once thriving social life. Registration fees, debt collecting, club meetings, early mornings, polyester and Lycra.

Various football paraphernalia adorning every room of your house. Dads! Dad’s advice! Their little darlings and cherubs laughing at you, your choice of trainers, and various things about you! If, you are as fortunate as me, this laughter can extend itself to the parents themselves laughing at you too. Club disputes, touchline tussles and rules for rules for rules.

Enough already!

Today crisp cold conditions away to Bedfont Eagles. The Knights fortunate to play on the Eagles Stadium 3G pitch. Delightful. We had sunshine, dugouts and parents that chose to stand rather than sit in the terraces. Raucous – not quite!

A potentially complicated and tough fixture against a determined and strong side who could easily have scuppered our title run. So did they? They didn’t! Like Arsenal today, Bedfont were well beaten by a side in a run-in frenzy. A strong wind, against us in the 1st, did little to dissuade the Knights from bombarding and jousting Bedfont in all areas of this full size pitch.

A mature, composed display of football ensued and whilst goals settled an assortment of nerves, the football on show brought contentment to division 2 champions elect. I shall not mention or name individuals today as this is a squad of boys that transcend expectation.
