After a long, Covid induced wait, we were able to donate old kits to the Ugandan Charity Community Initiative this Christmas.

A fantastic Christmas thank you from the girls and boys of Skill Line Academy near Kampala in Uganda to Hampton & Richmond Borough Youth FC.

The club’s U16 girls team has had an association with the academy after donating outgrown items of football kit and boots 5 years ago.

When the club changed its kit design, thanks to the efforts of youth team managers and parents, and the club’s kit manager Lee Cooper, most of the shirts, shorts and socks that were no longer needed were donated to the Ugandan Charity Community Initiative for Children at Risk which supports vulnerable children to increase their confidence, skills and opportunities.

Skill Line Academy is one of their activities which improves kids’ football skills and confidence so that many of the children are able to access sports scholarships at schools and universities and gain an education.

Due to Covid restrictions the kit delivery had to wait for a couple of years but it is still needed and clearly much appreciated!

With our latest Moving Forward Sports kits coming to the end of their 3 year cycle we will be asking players to return these once new kits arrive so we can continue to develop this relationship and assist more kids in using football as an outlet and opportunity for greater development in all aspects of their life.
